Music Lessons

LionWhale Music provides music lessons in your home. You don’t have to worry about dragging kids to a studio. Our college-educated teachers work around your schedule to provide top-quality lessons in the most convenient way possible.

ALL AGES WELCOME! Most of our students are school age, but we also have several adult students at every level of musicianship.

LionWhale Music is based in central New Jersey, but the area we serve is getting larger by the day. From Maine to Southern California, we’re looking forward to making music with you.

Is my child old enough for music lessons?

There are several answers to this question. The correct answer for you will depend most of all on attention span. We recommend students be able to focus for at least a half an hour. This makes lessons easier on both the student and instructor. With a good attention span, students usually can start most instruments at about school age (5-7 years old, depending on which instrument you choose).

Am I too old for music lessons?

Of course not! Many of our students are parents of other students, or even retirees looking for a new hobby. Our teachers are happy to work with adults at any level of playing skill.

Who will be teaching me/my child?

We pride ourselves on all of our teachers having degrees in music. Too many music teachers simply become proficient in playing an instrument with no background in reading music, music theory, or refined professional technique. All teachers also receive a police background check before being sent to your home.

How much does it cost?

LionWhale Music uses a flat monthly tuition based on a once-a-week half-hour lesson. Rates vary depending on your location. We do our best to keep our rates competitive while still providing you with the best possible instructors and service. Please call us for the exact rates in your area.
